Carl Schmidt Sohn AG – tradition since 1829. Carl Schmidt was a qualified blacksmith when he founded CARL SCHMIDT SOHN together with his son in 1829. Its name would go around the world, would become a brand and endures to this day. In its early days, the young company initially specialised in the manufacture of swords. Thanks to its geographic location next to the Wupper river and the local deposits of iron ore and wood for coal, the city of Solingen in western Germany had ideal conditions for metalworking. At the time, no-one could have suspected that Solingen would some day become the centre of the cutting tool industry and that "made in Solingen" would become synonymous with outstanding products and first-rate quality all over the world. Carl Schmidt and his son ran the company extremely successfully from the outset. After just a year, they employed 100 blacksmiths, grinders and labourers. Its close proximity to the city of Cologne is virtually perfect for its extensive bulk production and distribution because Cologne is currently one of the largest and most prosperous trading centres in Germany. This meant that products from CARL SCHMIDT SOHN travelled all around the world from the beginning. Cutting tools from Solingen would soon be considered as hallmarks of the best quality and workmanship. What's more, it achieved this reputation at a time when it took a lot of time for news to spread. Today, customers are simply impressed by the quality and excellence of swords, sabres, knives and shears from Solingen.

We produce: - cutlery as separate parts and complete sets - children's cutlery - tourist cutlery - cutlery with a unique handle (with a handle of real deer privileges , porcelain handles - in conjunction with THUN porcelain, wooden handles or silver - plated - aseptic effects or gilded cutlery). For smooth cutlery surfaces, we provide laser engraving of logos, emblems, text, in black and white and color variants. It is a high quality material made of stainless steel 18/10 = precisely polished to achieve an attractive light metallic luster. In production we use materials only from suppliers from the EU. Production capacity: 1) molding, pressing, cutting material - sheet metal cutting in a width of max. 10 mm - cold presses and grinders 40 - 160 tons incl. location (coil processing 300/2 mm and max. 1000 kg) - cold drawing on a hydraulic press 100t and 160t - deep metal drawing on a double-acting hydraulic press DT II 320/200, handling space 1500/1000/1100 mm 2) surface improvement - grinding and brushing of pipes and rectangular profiles - polishing of small parts in a cylindrical grinder 3) heat treatment of - noble metals - construction and instrument steel 4) welding - processing of resistance welding machine (on blunt or sharp surface) - arc welding in protective atmosphere (manually or on WIG/TIG machines)
